STATE OF THE ISLANDS
The world is rapidly changing and global tensions and trends are now a major concern and likely to remain so in the long-term. As island communities are generally far less resilient than mainland countries in responding to external factors beyond their control, this very unstable situation is already presenting economic, social, and environmental challenges for many island jurisdictions and organisations.
IMPACT & RISK REVIEW
To meet these challenges, ISLEFACT is a unique service designed specifically to inform and support island-based organisations by:

-
Identifying the implications of rapidly changing global and regional conditions on island communities,

-
Analysing the resultant economic, social, and environmental impact and risk scenarios on island administrations and economic/social sectors and, then,

-
Setting out possible options to minimise such impacts and risks.

Client interaction and the reporting process are very flexible (Services) and cost-effective. Above all, we endeavour to meet our three core objectives (view below on this Home Page).
Research outputs can be accessed in several ways:

-
Latest research findings and interpretation can be presented in PPT/Q&A briefing sessions at a frequency determined by the client (e.g. quarterly, etc.),

-
Bespoke research and analysis can be commissioned at any time,
-
A comprehensive Review programme has now been launched on a retained basis - The 2024/25 Review Parameters & Schedule and the contents of the first Review focusing on the resilience of islands primarily dependent upon just one economic sector (e.g. Tourism or Financial Services) can be viewed below. The next Review covering Island Labour and Migration Trends will be available shortly.
