STATE OF THE ISLANDS

Beach Rocks

Global tensions and volatile economic, social, and environmental conditions are now of real  long-term concern.  As island communities are generally less resilient than mainland countries in responding to negative external factors beyond their control, this increasingly unstable situation is already presenting challenges for island jurisdictions and those organisations based in them.

RESEARCH MODEL

Taking account of these external pressures and three core objectives (below), our research model constantly reviews and analyses island financial, economic, social, and environmental trends specifically to inform and enhance client strategy and operational decision-making. This model is supported at all times by work which identifies:-

  • latest global and regional conditions of relevance to island communities,

  • resultant economic, social, and environmental impact and risk scenarios on island administrations and businesses, and

  • the degree of resilience and vulnerability of key island functions.

Full details of the research framework adopted are set out on the (Services) page or (contact us) for further information.

EXPERTISE

Many years of island research and analytical experience globally enables the identification of island best practice, wherever it is being applied, to be a primary component of our work.

CORE OBJECTIVES

Offering a unique and flexible research and advisory service is essential. This is why the following three core objectives are key to ensuring clients meet their specific needs and are aware of possible risk scenarios.

Objective 1

Enhancing the client’s own internal data and information used to determine Board level strategy, operational direction, and risk management.

Objective 2

Providing key research as an outsourced service freeing up the client’s internal resources to focus on core activities and business development.

Objective 3

Generating data and information to realise cost efficiencies/savings in areas such as marketing, procurement, recruitment, and public relations.
